As of Jan. 1, 2018, AgeWell Medical Associates began accepting Humana Medicare Advantage Plans.

AgeWell, an independent medical practice dedicated to senior health care, already accepts traditional Medicare and many of the other Medicare Advantage Plans, like United, but patients have asked about Humana as well. AgeWell is pleased to announce that they are now “in network” for most Humana plans. When signing up, patients need to choose the practice physician, Dr. Jeffrey Kulp, as their Primary Care Provider since most Medicare Advantage plans do not allow patients to choose Nurse Practitioners as primary care providers. The health care staff at Agewell is growing, too, and in April, another nurse practitioner joins the team. Elaine Wozniak, GNP-C, a geriatric nurse practitioner, is moving back to Colorado Springs from Tucson, Ariz., where she has been the owner and director of an Adult Daycare facility. Elaine has a passion for geriatric care and many years of experience in the field.

With the addition of Wozniak, Agewell Medical Associates will have five health care providers — fellow Nurse Practitioners Elizabeth Allen, Brad Bingham, and Paula Hardy; and Dr. Kulp.

All providers are accepting new patients age 60 and up. Mike Kenny, PsyD, is also part of the provider team, offering behavioral health services on site. Located in the Printers Park area of town, AgeWell’s facility is accessible to the disabled and has convenient handicapped parking out front.
