Sertoma Clubs donate over $100,000 to community

For Life After 50

Local Sertoma (SERvice TO MAnkind) clubs have over the past 12 months, raised and donated over $100,000 back to the community. This national service organization, headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., and their main sponsorship is helping the Hearing Impaired

These five Sertoma clubs (Austin Bluffs, Colorado Springs, Gleneagle, Legacy and Woodmen Valley)  have provided hearing aids to those individuals in El Paso County who might otherwise been unable to afford them.

Additionally, they have provided college scholarships to local high school students, funded a Freedom Essay Contest for local eighth-graders, a “Field of Dreams” baseball camp for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing kids, as well as providing donations to Care and Share, Christmas Unlimited, the Salvation Army, Pikes Peak Soapbox Derby, Boy Scouts, and scholarships for deaf teens attending Aspen Camp for the Deaf.

These clubs are always looking for more folks that have a passion for “Making Lives Worthwhile”. Information is available at 719-331-1212.
