On This Day …

On March 11, 1909, Colorado Springs received 28 inches of snow. The Colorado Springs Gazette reported there was no damage, but school children were given the day off. In addition to the pedestrians going about their day despite the snow, this photograph of Pikes Peak Avenue looking west shows the Exchange National Bank building under construction as well as various other businesses.
